Processing Emotions and Life Transitions
w/Sekari Ewing
I believe you are the expert of your own life. My role is to meet you where you are and walk alongside you as you navigate challenges, explore your experiences, and build on your strengths. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where you can show up as yourself and feel empowered to move forward with clarity and confidence.
My approach is person-centered, while also incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and solution-focused techniques. This means we’ll take time to understand what you’re going through, while also working toward meaningful, practical changes whether that’s shifting unhelpful patterns, setting goals, or building tools you can use in your daily life.
I have a special interest in working with military spouses and families, individuals navigating life transitions, anxiety, caregiver burnout, workplace stress, and college-related challenges. As a military spouse, I understand the unique demands of military life, including frequent transitions, uncertainty, and ongoing stress. My background as a caregiver for individuals with complex needs, along with my experience in leadership roles, allows me to connect with those who may feel overwhelmed, stretched thin, or responsible for others.
I show up with empathy, respect, and a genuine desire to understand your lived experience. If you’re looking for a space where you feel heard, supported, and gently challenged to grow, I would be honored to work with you.
My approach is a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. I believe that thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are deeply interconnected, and through CBT, clients can begin to recognize and reshape unhelpful thinking patterns.
In plain terms:
I will meet you where you are without judgment, while helping you make sense of what you’re going through
I will help you identify patterns in your thoughts and behaviors and give you tools to shift what’s not working
I will support you through life transitions, stress, and overwhelm in a way that feels manageable and realistic
I will create a space where you can be honest, feel heard, and not have to carry everything alone
I will gently challenge you and hold you accountable so you can move toward the life you actually want
My Specialties
Signs We Will Work Well Together
To help you further, here are concerns my clients often have before working with me:
You’re going through a life change and feeling overwhelmed or unsure of your next step
You’re used to being the strong one for others, but don’t always have space for yourself
You feel stressed, stretched thin, or mentally drained most days
You want someone who will really listen without judgment, but also help you move forward
You’re open to looking at your patterns and making small, realistic changes
You want support that feels steady and understanding, not rushed or surface-level
You’re navigating military life, caregiving, or major responsibilities and need space to process it
You’re ready to feel more grounded, clear, and in control of your life again
If these are things you can relate to, I want to talk to you. Your feelings are valid and you don’t have to go through these things alone.
My Therapy Approaches
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT):
If you often find yourself caught in cycles of negative thinking, self-criticism, or perfectionism, CBT can help you break free. This approach focuses on identifying and challenging the unhelpful thought patterns that keep you feeling stuck or anxious, replacing them with healthier, more empowering perspectives. Together, we’ll look at the connections between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, so you can begin to shift your mindset and start living with more confidence and clarity. CBT gives you practical tools to manage anxiety, overcome self-doubt, and move through life’s challenges with greater ease.

Person-Centered Therapy:
I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to create a supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. In person-centered therapy, you set the pace, and I’m here to listen, reflect, and help you tap into your inner strengths. By creating a relationship built on trust, empathy, and unconditional positive regard, we’ll work together to uncover your authentic self and help you navigate through life’s challenges in a way that feels right for you. You’ll learn to trust yourself, embrace your growth, and make decisions that align with who you truly are.
