Therapy
w/Tamatha McCoy, MSW
We all possess an inner strength, resilience, and ability to self-heal from the challenges that life often times throws our way. I have always been been drawn to helping others find and tap into those inner abilities.
As your therapist, I will provide a safe, trusting, supportive therapeutic environment that will help you understand what you are experiencing. From there, you will obtain self awareness and begin the healing process.
I provide a variety of therapeutic approaches to include but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Person-Centered Focused Therapy. Though these terms may not mean much to you now, our use of them in therapy will:
Help you understand what you are experiencing and why
Help you replace unhelpful and anxious thoughts that cause harm to your relationship with yourself and others
Sit with difficult emotions so that they heal versus temporarily go away
Align your values with your behaviors to create the balance you want and NEED
With my compassion, empathy, and non-judgemental approach, we will develop techniques to manage difficult emotions and communicate needs. Such will further self-growth and desired relationships. I strive to show compassion and provide support throughout the journey to personal autonomy. I look forward establishing a trusting and helpful relationship with you to assist in beginning your journey to healing.

Signs We Will Work Well Together
A good way to determine whether or not we would be well matched in our therapeutic relationship is during our free, brief consultation call. You will get to ask me questions about my experience, how change occurs for clients during sessions, and if I have helped others who have dealt with similar situations as yours.
To help you further, here are feelings my clients often have before working with me:
“I overthink”
“I’m always thinking the worst of myself”
“I often stress out about the worst case scenario”
“I want to build my self esteem”
“I recently lost a loved one and the grief has been too much to handle”
“My kids have left the home now that they are adults and I’m trying to find myself again”
“I can’t seem to find “Mr. or Mrs. Right”. I don’t want to be stuck being single for the rest of my life”
‘I feel depressed and unmotivated to make any changes”
If these are sentiments you can relate to, I want to talk to you. Your feelings are valid and you don’t have to go through these things alone.
